Dr. Z. Hande Sart completed her BA in the double major program of Guidance and Psychological Counseling and Psychology, MA in Clinical Psychology at Boğaziçi University. Her master’s research focused on mathematical disability and neurospsychological deficits in children with seizure disorders. Dr. Sart completed her PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh studying the stability and change in behavior problems in preschool years. Dr. Sart teaches graduate and undergraduate sudents of counseling as well undergraduate students of teaching programs at Boğaziçi University since 2004. Her instructional focus has been in disabilities and advocacy for individuals with disabilites. Dr. Sart was the coordinator of the Disability Unit that oversees the supportive services for students with disabilities and GETEM (the Technology and Educational Laboratory for Visual Disabilities) of Boğaziçi University. Dr. Sart served as the Member of Committee for Students with Disabilities in Higher Education at the Council of Higher Education (CHE). She worked on International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health at World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva, Switzerland for a period of six months. Dr. Sart’s research areas are neurodevelopmental disabilities, behavior problems and disorders in children, disability rights and inclusive counseling.
