After graduating from Selçuk University, Faculty of Education, Primary Education Teacher undergraduate program in 2001, he worked as a classroom teacher at Büyük Sarıkaya Village Elementary School in Bahşili district of Kırıkkale province between 2001 and 2003. In 2003, he went to the United States for his master's and doctorate education in special education with an international education scholarship provided by the Ministry of National Education within the scope of Law No. 1416. He completed the Special Education Master's Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005, and the Special Education Doctorate program in 2009. The same year, he started working at Muğla University, Faculty of Education. In 2011, he left his job at Muğla University and started working at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Education. Between 2011 and 2024, he worked as a faculty member in the Special Education Department of Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Education. In 2024, he left his job at Eskişehir Osmangazi University and started working at Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Education. He is currently working as a faculty member in the Department of Educational Sciences at Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Education. He has published articles in various scientific journals, books and book chapters, and presented papers in national and international congresses in the field of Special Education. His research interests include specific learning disabilities, assessment of reading skills, increasing reading achievement, inclusion, and teacher training in special education.
